OCTOBER: Filling your cloud

Updated: May 23, 2020

It is the end of September and if you can't tell already, I am EexCcitEdD. Not only because it is my birthday month (25th October *cough* *cough*), but because it is a new season.

I know I have said that you do not have to wait until the beginning of a month, for example, to start manifesting who you want to be and start working on certain goals but I kind of accidentally, deliberately, accidentally extended my A level holiday to 30th September..

LOL, can you imagine, I did not read ONE book in the holidays. Whew chile, the ghetto.

Since the beginning of September, especially, I have been watching the lives of others and the moves they have been making and I have been getting more and more annoyed at myself, not because I want to be like them but because I have so many ideas and goals for myself but I haven't done anything about it.

I've just recently joined university and what I love about it is that I can start afresh and mould myself into the woman I want to be, taking what I have learnt in the past, and in university there are so many avenues for me to do it. Moreover, even after a week people are telling me how hard law is and that it is normal to be getting 3rds in year one and I don't want to be that person that goes to uni and does what is required but rather someone who is doing exploits and being a person of influence. There are tens of thousands of people in Warwick and I don't want to be another statistic in the pool of average students but rather I want to grow from and leave my academic tendencies of mediocrity and create a name for myself.

Plus I'm competitive, LOOOOOL xx

Anyhoo..

To others, it may seem like I am doing bits, but to me, especially since I know what I can do and achieve, I have been so lazy and complacent and that can no longer run.

This blog is a little motivational and even though I'm not a big fan of motivational speeches, in this new and great season, it would be ignorant for me to 'live off' of the same sprouts of motivation that have been pushing me along since the beginning of time.

I am a being of evolution and as I have quoted before, "it is madness to repeat the same actions expecting a different result".

So let's talk about running the race of life.

I personally don't think life is a race in the sense that you compete against others but I do believe that the world is continuously moving forwards so we must run with it, or even stay several steps ahead of it, as not to miss our reward or get left behind.

I was watching one of my church's sermons, which is the inspiration of this blog actually, and I want to take what was said and tune it to my message:

I think that having a goal or vision in life is very, and I say this carefully, easy. It's very 'easy' for us to want big things and envision ourselves getting there but the issue people deal with is actually getting there.

David Oyedepo Jr says "every vision is a race and these visions demand a run for victory and so it is time to RUN" (Habbakuk 2:1-3). The time for planning and dreaming is done and now it is time to be the catalyst of the manifestation of our desires into REALITY.

Every race has a prize and answers only to committed runners (Hebrews 12:1). Take the Olympics for example, you do not get awarded a place/position until you COMPLETE the race and not every runner wins the prize (1 Cor 9:24), it is only the winner(s) that get medals. The harsh reality is that, in life, you are not rewarded for participation.

He also said every season of engagement is loaded with a change of story (from God) and it is vital to understand that. A farmer cannot collect his harvest without first engaging in farming, envisioning it does nothing. We must ENGAGE in this season.

- Take a cloud, for example: a cloud fills with water and when it is full that is when it rains. We need to fill our cloud so as to not be living in vain, and fill it to the point of rain.

Moreover if you want your life to be in a stage that it has never been in, we have to take actions that we have never done before. Back to my quote about madness and repeating the same things, with every new season and vision, change is required. This change does not always have to be different but rather more, we need to be MORE disciplined, MORE focused, MORE driven, etc, to fill that cloud.

Finally, "any harvest left on the ground is vulnerable to being devoured by the birds of the air" (Matthew 12:30). You may have heard several times that the graveyard is where you will find the most potential and this links to this conclusion. The graveyard is where you will find the most potential because it is where you will find people who have died without doing anything with their lives.

- Let's take the harvest on the ground as an idea, or a vision, these things left untouched leave us vulnerable to be devoured by birds, which can be things like failure, mediocrity, 'stolen dreams', envy, the list goes on.

With that being said, "Until the crop gets to the store, the farmer is not entitled his pay"(John 4:35-36), until we do something with our goals, ambitions and visions, we are not entitled to see its manifestation.

Actually, one last thing, let your race have direction because you will find yourself running in many races, running for many prizes and in that, getting nothing.. A few days ago, I attended my university's societies fair, and like everyone else I joined a lot of feel-good societies: United Nations, Uncief, Writing, Public Speaking, Volunteering, you name it. But I realised that I needed to take a step back and ask myself what do I actually need? Do I want to be influential by doing many things or do I want to do things that will empower me and allow me empower others?

You need to think, is my goal or vision in the name of doing big things? Or is this the acknowledgement of my race and understanding of its prize? Am I lost or am I right where I want to be? Where I need to be?
